The Jaguars started Interclub in an effort to improve the training and playing environment during the winter for our youngest teams. The program has been a big success and fulfills a number of valuable objectives.
The number one objective is to bring all Jaguars teams below the age of 12 together in order to expose players to other coaches and teams within the Jaguars organization. Black team players are seen by white team coaches and white team players are seen by green team coaches and so on. The program also improves the relationships that our young players have with other kids in the club.
Interclub makes it possible to control the competition for our young teams. The object is to put teams in an environment that would accelerate their development. The focus is almost completely on creativity, taking risks, and playing the game the right way instead of worrying solely about winning and losing. Don’t misunderstand that these games won’t be competitive, though. The Jaguars staff are able to manage the games to make sure that all of our kids get what they should out of the experience.
Teams also get the chance to play games in a number of different situations. Boys play girls, older teams play younger teams, stronger teams play weaker teams, etc. This helps expand players’ ability to adapt to different game scenarios.
