Program Description
TOPSoccer is a national program created in 1992 to train young people with disabilities to play soccer in a caring coaching environment. TOPSoccer is a US Youth soccerprogram run through State Associations. The Jaguars are delighted to offer this program, beginning this winter. TOPSoccer gives youth with impairments an opportunity to learn and play soccer. While playing soccer, TOPSoccer athletes will also be physically active and developing relationships with other TOPSoccer athletes and volunteers.
The program currently serves youth aged 6 to18 with a broad base of needs and a range of impairments. Each season runs for 5 weeks/1 hour per week.
Volunteers
Volunteers provide one-to-one aid as TOPSoccer athletes work through each soccer activity. In the process volunteers develop a relationship with a TOPSoccer athlete and gain experience in working with children with a wide range of impairments. The program is designed to provide an excellent and substantive service opportunity for people.
We are looking for Volunteers to assist with this program. If you, a student or someone you know, would like to help, please contact Barry Scott at barrythescott@aol.com.
